Mark Russel Ward, 67-year-old who went missing, is found safe and well

The expat living in San Fulgencio disappeared at the beginning of this month but has been found

Mark Russel Ward, a 67-year-old man who had gone missing from San Fulgencio (Alicante) for a week, has thankfully been found, the missing persons association SOS Desaparecidos has reported.

The last time he had been seen was on Saturday February 1 in San Fulgencio in the Vega Baja area, where he lived. After receiving the alert, the police force deployed an extensive search to find the man.

Now, the news has come through that the search is over and Mark Russell has now been found alive and is being cared for in hospital.

Some 20,000 people go missing in Spain every year and although almost all the cases are solved, there are 10% that are still active even though years may go by.

SOS Desaparecidos help in the search for all these people by publishing basic information on social networks to encourage the public to help them in their search.
