February 7 to 16 Festival of Traditional Cooking in Aguilas

Get back to the roots and traditions of the gastronomy of Águilas!

Rather than focusing on fusion, outlandish ingredients and innovation, this gastronomic event in Águilas, which is taking place from February 7 to 16, features the tastes and aromas of the copoking which has sustained the local population for generations!

The “Jornadas gastronómicas de la Cocina Tradicional” event is being supported by 12 local restaurants, each of them offering their own speciality (probably handed down from the mother and grandmother of the head chef!).

Starters: Marina de Cope-style tomatoes, pastel de roca, ham croquettes, boiled prawns

From Tuesday to Friday, 6 euros for a bowl of lentejas in the traditional style of Grandma Ye with a drink.

Meal for 20 euros Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Baked octopus, one plate for two, with 2 small beers or 2 glasses of wine.

5.50 euros for a bowl of chicken breast “Mazárabe” with a small beer.

Raf tomatoes with tuna steak, stuffed olives, scrambled egg with mushrooms and spring onions, artichokes with foie, ham and caramelized apple, red prawn croquette, seafood stew, dessert and coffee.

Ensalada murciana, broad beans with ham and egg, cod ball stew, pork cheeks with truffle sauce, dessert, drink included.

Águilas tomato salad, salmorejo croquette, fish stew, then a choice of seabass, vegetable wok or patatas a lo pobre. Dessert, ad rink and coffee included.

Águilas tomatos with tuna steak chunks, hueva with almonds, baked octopus, beans with baby clams. Drink, dessert (rice pudding) and coffee included.

One dish at the bar (7 euros)

A different stew every day of the week: Beef on Monday, Turkey on Tuesday, Garlic on Wednesday, Stew on Thursday and Broad beans on Friday. Drink included.
