Showers and drizzle ahead of a new storm: Alicante weather forecast April 29-May 2

The north of Alicante province can expect showers early in the week before a storm hits before the weekend

Weather outlook on Thursday May 1

Alicante had a real taste of summer over the weekend with clear skies and brilliant sunshine but the spring showers are set to return, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), ahead of a new Atlantic storm which will hit on Friday May 2, bringing instability to the entire country over the weekend.

Tuesday April 29

All of Alicante province will experience cloudy skies on Tuesday with a chance of light rain or drizzle in the north, while temperatures should remain steady or rise slightly.

Light winds will pick up from the east and northeast, with strong gusts along the coast, especially from midday onwards.

Wednesday April 30

The last day of April will see overcast skies in the north and partly cloudy skies elsewhere, with light rain and drizzle expected in the northern half of Alicante province. Overnight temperatures will rise slightly, but daytime temperatures will drop slightly in the north and moderate northeasterly winds will prevail.

Thursday May 1

Thursday will be cloudy with light rain and drizzle in southern Valencia and northern Alicante and temperatures will remain steady overnight, with a slight rise during the day. Winds will be light from the north, with moderate winds along the coast and from the east during the middle of the day.

Friday May 2

The weather is expected to take a turn for the worse on Friday as a new Atlantic storm brings widespread rain to the entire country, with the most significant accumulations expected in the south. The storm will bring abundant cloud cover, with some clearings later in the day.
