Four municipalities from Almería are competing to be named the most Magical Town in Andalucía
The voting is underway to choose a winner
Four municipalities in the province of Almería all have the chance of having the honour of being named the most Magical Town in Andalucia. The Network of Magical Towns of Spain is launching a new initiative, the Regional Awards for Magical Towns of Spain 2025, or ‘Pueblos Mágicos de España’.
The objective is to choose one ‘magical town’ from each of the country’s 17 autonomous communities. The idea behind these awards is to recognise the effort made by the territories and for the winner to serve as an example to the other towns for how to win the award.
In Andalucía, 47 municipalities are competing to be a Magical Town 2025. Among these candidates, there are four from the province of Almería: Abrucena, Enix, Laujar de Andarax and Vícar.
Voting will close on November 17 and can be done from the network who sponsor the awards APP or from the official website. Among all participants, a 3-day getaway for 2 people through the Magical Towns of Spain will be raffled off. The winner of the draw will be announced on our social networks on November 30, 2024.
The Magical Towns initiative, promoted by the Institute for Local Development and Social Studies, aims to help territories to enhance their local resources by promoting Local Tourism Development.
Each territory is analysed based on ten areas of work that include quality of life, urban planning, heritage, festivals and traditions, gastronomy and local products, landscapes, nature and other intangibles that make some towns magical.
The inclusion of a town in the Network of Magical Towns of Spain means access to the multiple services of promotion and territorial development that it offers and to the use of the registered trademark and logo of Magical Towns of Spain, as a “distinctive quality and uniqueness of the municipality,” they explain on their website.
