February 14 Il Trovatore opera by Verdi at the seafront auditorium in Aguilas

One of Verdi’s best known operas at the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena in Águilas

Il Trovatore has been one of Giuseppe Verdi’s most widely appreciated operas since its premiere in Rome in 1853, and the composer himself claimed it was the most famous during his lifetime.

The action is set in northern Spain (Vizcaya and Aragon) in the 15^th century and concerns a romantic love story between Leonora and the troubadour Manrico. The work comes to Águilas in a performance by the Lírica Ópera 2001 company, using the original Italian libretto.

The performance at the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena in Águilas on February 14 begins at 20.00. Tickets are available online here for 25 and 30 euros, or alternatively at the local archaeological museum, the Casa de la Cultura and at the box office of the auditorium from 1 hour before the curtain rises.
